Joint Editors: David Rider, Jenny Beechener

Assistant Editor: Kylie Bull

DAVID RIDER

David RyderDavid qualified in the Royal Navy as an executive officer and as a helicopter pilot and instructor. On leaving the service, after 12 years, he specialised in market research and development in the aviation industry.

He produced the first international book covering Airport Equipment for Jane's in 1982, and this book has been published annually to date. In 1994, details of over 1500 airports were introduced to the book, and the ATC section was removed. This section was used as the basis for a new book entitled Jane's Air Traffic Control which was first published in December 1994. As with all Jane's books, these two titles are now produced in three formats: on-line (updated monthly), as a CD (updated quarterly) and published annually as a book. In addition to the two titles, David is a Technical Editor for the magazine, Jane's Airport Review.

In 2000, he was responsible for the conference programme for ATC Maastricht and later that year, initiated a similar annual conference in Singapore entitled ATC Asia Pacific.

JENNY BEECHENER

Jenny Beechener began writing for the transport press on graduation, joining Lloyds of London and then FT Newletters before opting to specialise in aviation. Jenny held editorial roles with Euromoney on the titles Air Traffic Management and Airport Support in the early 1990s, and gained experience working on research and marketing projects for clients in the UK and overseas. In 1995 Jenny was appointed editor of Jane’s Airport Review, and over a period of 10 years was instrumental in developing the title as the world’s leading airport business magazine. Jenny left in 2007 to edit Jane’s Air Traffic Control, and continues to contribute to Jane’s activities including conference events, research projects, and articles for Jane’s Airport Review.
